Dr. Brian Sutton
Dr. Brian Sutton serves the Church of God of Prophecy as general presbyter of North America. He leads a team of 26 state and regional bishops who connect with more than 1700 local congregations throughout Canada and the United States.
Bishop Sutton has previously served as state bishop of Alabama and Executive Director of Leadership Development and Discipleship at the International Offices. His most cherished calling is that of pastor, a mission he joyously shouldered for 25 years, most recently at Peerless Road Church in Cleveland, Tennessee. He has served for several years on various administrative committees and currently serves on the Executive Council for the Pentecostal/Charismatic Churches of North America (PCCNA). In 2023 Bishop Sutton began serving as International Prayer Coordinator for the Church of God of Prophecy.
Bishop Sutton earned an Associate of Science in Ministry from Tomlinson College, a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Covenant College, a Master of Arts in Church Ministries from Pentecostal Theological Seminary, and a Master of Arts in Religion from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He further earned a Doctor of Ministry Degree in Global Pentecostalism from Gordon-Conwell. In 2018, he was selected by Pentecostal Theological Seminary as alumnus of the year.
Dr. Sutton is the author of Discovering Holiness: A Quest for God published by White Wing Books in 2014, Prevailing Prayer: Developing a Lifestyle of Conversation with God, published by White Wing Books in 2014, The Minister’s Pocket Manual: Church of God of Prophecy Edition published by White Wing Books in 2016, Conversation With God: The Power of Prevailing Prayer, published by Broadstreet Press in 2017, and Practice These Things: Mentored Ministry Manual published by White Wing Books in 2018. Additionally, he is the co-writer of Membership Matters, the Church of God of Prophecy church membership curriculum, and a contributing writer to the Foundations: Minister’s Development Program and the Church of God of Prophecy National/State/Regional Bishop’s Manual.
He and his wife, Renee, are blessed with wonderful children: a daughter and son-in-law, a son and daughter-in-law, and two granddaughters.
